This week's spotlight: Bahadourian

You may be surprised to find that one of Lyon's greatest sources for groceries and fun ingredients is...a Middle Eastern supermarket! Bahadourian is a one-stop shop for staples such as dried beans (think black bean soup), nuts, flours (think flaky pie crusts), granola ingredients, cornmeal (think cornbread), spices and seasonings. And of course, it's great place if you're wanting to try something new and a little exotic.

General Mills, and the rest of their army

French consumers - and American expats in France - have been enjoying General Mills brands for nearly half a century. It began in the 1960s when General Mills purchased Biscuiterie Nantaise, France's leading sweet biscuit and sandwich cookie company. Over the next three decades, Green Giant vegetables (Géant Vert), Häagen-Dazs ice cream , Wanchai Ferry Chinese food and Old El Paso Mexican food were introduced to French consumers.

In 1996, The Pillsbury Company established offices in Vélizy to market retail and foodservice products in the country. General Mills acquired Pillsbury in 2001.

Click on the links above for more information on these General Mills products in your local grocery store.

Eat your (American) veggies!

Green Giant®

Green Giant created the sweet corn category when the brand was introduced to France in 1960. Since then, they have introduced:
